Senior Resource Hub - Community Meal Programs

 

Community Meal Programs


Good nutrition is vital for senior health and well-being. The following meal programs are available to support Rindge seniors in accessing nutritious food while fostering social connection.


Local Meal Programs


1. Meals on Wheels - Home Delivered Meals


Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious, ready-to-eat meals to homebound seniors who are unable to prepare their own food.


Eligibility:

-Seniors aged 60 and older or individuals with disabilities.
-Must be unable to prepare meals independently.


Benefits:

-Hot, balanced meals delivered directly to the home.
-Regular wellness checks from volunteers for safety and social contact.

2. Jaffrey-Rindge Senior Lunch Program


Held weekly at a local community center, this program provides seniors with affordable lunches in a friendly social environment.


Benefits:

-Affordable, nutritious meals served in a social setting.
-Opportunity to meet other seniors and participate in group activities.

3. Rindge Congregational Church - Community Supper


This free monthly supper offers a hot meal and a welcoming space for all members of the Rindge community, including seniors.

4. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)


For seniors who need additional financial support for groceries, SNAP provides monthly financial assistance for purchasing food.


Eligibility:

-Based on income and household size.
-Available for both individuals and families.

5. The Community Kitchen


Located in nearby Keene, The Community Kitchen provides free hot meals and food pantry services to individuals and families in need.


Services Include:

-Evening meal service for those unable to cook or afford meals.
-Grocery boxes for seniors facing food insecurity.
