Volunteer Recognition Program

Celebrating Service

By honoring volunteers, we shine a light on the best of Rindge — and inspire a future where service and community spirit continue to thrive.

"Volunteers don’t get paid, not because they’re worthless, but because they’re priceless."

Sherry Anderson

The Volunteer Recognition Program Explained

Honoring Those Who Make Rindge Stronger

Rindge is built on the dedication of its residents — from volunteers who serve on boards and committees to those who quietly give their time to improve our community.

The Rindge Volunteer Recognition Program is designed to celebrate these individuals, highlight their contributions, and inspire others to get involved.

Why Recognize Volunteers?

Volunteers Strengthen Our Town: Their work supports schools, emergency services, conservation efforts, and community events.

Volunteers Inspire Others: By recognizing their efforts, we encourage more people to step forward and get involved.

Volunteers Deserve Our Thanks: Many give their time selflessly, and their contributions often go unnoticed.

What Does the Program Aim to Achieve?

Celebrate Volunteerism: Shine a spotlight on those who dedicate their time to Rindge.

Inspire Future Volunteers: By showcasing the impact of volunteer efforts, we encourage others to get involved.

Foster Community Pride: Highlighting local heroes reinforces a culture of kindness, service, and collaboration.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions

The Volunteer Recognition Program may include several award categories to reflect the diverse ways people give back:

Community Impact Award – For volunteers who have made a lasting impact on town programs, services, or residents.

Youth Service Award – Recognizing young people who are making a difference in their community.

Lifetime Service Award – Honoring individuals with decades of dedicated service to Rindge.

Unsung Hero Award – For those who quietly contribute behind the scenes.

Business/Organization Award – For local groups or businesses that actively support volunteer efforts.

A Simple Process to Celebrate Volunteers

Nominations Open to All: Residents will be encouraged to nominate individuals, groups, or businesses for their contributions.

Selection Process: A volunteer recognition committee will review nominations and select honorees based on impact, dedication, and service.

Annual Recognition Event: Winners will be celebrated at an annual Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony hosted by the Board of Selectmen.

Ongoing Recognition: Honorees will also be featured in town newsletters, social media, and local news outlets to maximize awareness.

The Volunteer Appreciation Event - A Night of Celebration & Gratitude

Awards Presentation: Honorees will be publicly recognized for their contributions.

Guest Speakers: Local leaders and community members will share stories about the impact volunteers have had in Rindge.

Social Gathering: The event will include time for volunteers, residents, and town leaders to connect and celebrate together.

Benefits for the Town - Why the Program Matters

Strengthens community ties by celebrating those who contribute to Rindge’s well-being.

Inspires new volunteers to get involved, strengthening town programs and services.

Reinforces Rindge’s values of service, collaboration, and civic pride.

Promoting the Program - Spreading the Word

To ensure the program’s success, we may utilize:

Social Media Campaigns – Sharing volunteer stories and award updates.

Community Outreach – Engaging schools, local organizations, and businesses to encourage nominations.

Event Promotion – Using flyers, posters, and newsletters to invite residents to celebrate.
